What is Your Colour Personality?

Colour is the most powerful tool when it comes to interior decorating and can make a space come alive. A different wall colour will change the atmosphere of a space instantly. Colour impacts on our health, emotions, and wellbeing.

Therefore, it is helpful to know about colour theory and psychology when starting a renovation project or redecorating your home. Even, if you only want to buy new curtains, it is helpful to know which colours suit your personality.

As curtain specialists, we recommend finding out first what mood you would like to achieve in your home and, secondly, what seasonal colour personality you are.

Start with an assessment of your home or room and define what mood you would like to create. Answer the question: What would I like my home to do for me? How should my home make me feel? The words you come up with, for example, could be energetic, relaxing, exuberant, simple, opulent, breezy, quirky, open, welcoming, etc. Try and drill down your list to the three most important keywords that describe your feelings.

In colour psychology, there are four seasons reflecting nature’s pattern: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter; each of these seasons is defined by specific characteristics, such as key attributes, colours, patterns, and textures.

Once you have identified your keywords you can work out what colour personality you are. Your colour personality will then give you an indication about the paint colours, the textures, and patterns you should use in your home. You will be able to create a colour scheme that turns your home into a place that reflects and supports your colour personality. And your interior will effortlessly come together. Even if your family members represent different colour personalities, choosing the right colours can reduce stress and create harmony.
